A TIME FOR CHOOSING

Well it’s been a few years since I actively did anything with my website. I tend to do my daily work during the day and then in the evening depending on what’s going on in the household or with my church, I might be doing some video recording or editing but seldom do I work on a website. With the beginning of 2021, a new year, a new chapter in the journey we call life, we’ve seen the continuation, I think, of the craziness in our world that started a year ago with the pandemic panic. For a long time, most of us go about our daily lives like I do, we get up, we work, we do the things we need to do and go to bed and start all over doing the same things the next day, over and over, day after day, month after month, year after year. We just like being who we are and doing what we want to do, what we need to do. Often things in the news are overblown for ratings or for political gains by this or that party, pushing one agenda or another. We’ve seen a ton of this over most of my adult life, probably longer. There was a point when the news was reporting facts, now it’s reporting opinions and political slants. With the “Social Network boom” over the past 10 years or so, the news has grown to be more and more found on these social networks and they became less about you and me and more about this political issue or that one. Like everyone else, I got sucked into that world. I abandoned most of my own content (read blogging) and more about liking/following/commenting/sharing etc. etc. etc. and it even seems to take over most of my free time interacting with these posts and people. This is all fine and dandy so long as we are all free to express whatever it is that’s on our minds. Then it started to become political. The politics of the mainstream media leeched into social networking and began to poison our interactions with each other. We all have unique perspectives and as I understand it, adults are capable of communicating different perspectives, respecting our differences exist, and moving on. Not in the world of social networking in 2020/2021 however. Now, when any event happens, the MSM jumps to their agenda laden conclusions and blasts It far and wide and many people accept these blasts of garbage as fact. We the consumer of this immediately condemn this or that and if you don’t you’re obviously wrong. Now if you’re against the grain, you get banned, deplatformed, because you disagree with the MSM narrative. This is especially true now that those same MSM entities “guy” got “elected” to POTUS so they think it’s fine now to quell any dissen. Basically, since I don’t agree with the narrative, I will be discriminated against. So for me, it’s a time for choosing to walk away. I can no longer stand to sit in the filth that is the social networks we’ve all been sucked into over the past decade. I am walking away from those platforms before the unfair censorship happening to others happens to me. I will miss interacting with my friends there and I hope to show them there is a world apart from that one where we can be free once again to be who we are without fear of censorship by tyrants in the big tech/MSM world. If you are reading this, I hope you too will think about where you are and what is going on in the world around us and make this your time to chose to be free again.
